Before you start

Low Power Mode requires watchOS 9 or later; charging behavior varies by model.

Make charging part of a repeatable routine, such as while showering or putting things away. A few days of your own usage is more useful than a generic battery estimate.

01Check battery details

On Apple Watch, open Settings > Battery to view charge and charging information. If drain stays unusual, check Battery Health too.

02Turn on Low Power Mode when needed

Open Low Power Mode from the Battery screen and read which features it limits. It reduces some background activity and measurements.

03Reserve charging time before sleep

If you track sleep, top up before bed and enable charging reminders. Leave preparation time before long navigation or workouts too.

That’s it

You know whether the charge is enough for the next part of your day and confirm it after charging.

Questions you may have

Can I leave Low Power Mode on all the time?

Use it as needed, but some background health measurements, display behavior, and connections change. Check Apple’s limits when you depend on those features.

What if the battery suddenly drains much faster?

Look for recent changes such as an update, workout, navigation, or audio playback. If it continues, check Apple Support and Battery Health instead of disabling everything at once.
